These words hit me one day as I was scrolling through FB. They were written by a vivacious lady thriving to do her best and be her best no matter what her age. 

I knew her back in the day when she was just a teenager in high school and I called her Mica, or Civ. She was tenacious and spunky, goal-oriented, and had a smile that was longer than a mile!!!  I loved her then and today, she still is inspiring me!  

Can we normalize that ALL bodies are summer bodies??? That if you have a body & it’s summer, you in fact have a summer body!  

The amount of shame I’ve lived with most of my life because of others’ opinions of what a summer body is supposed to be like is absolutely RIDICULOUS! And I’ve apparently reached my limits on seeing ‘summer body ready’ & ‘hot girl summer’ posts. How about ‘healthy body summer’ or ‘doing my best & forget the rest summer’… 

This soon-to-be 40-year-old is breaking up with those limiting thoughts that say I can’t be out in the boat, raft, poolside, etc., in my suit because of my body, and I encourage you to do the same. Let’s go have the best summer, making memories free of body shame, at last! #nomoreshame #makememories #allbodies #healthybody #doyourbestandforgettherest 

Mica and I have had similar dreams, though myself being 10 years older…We have both gone through our struggles with much hard work, tireless days and nights, great humility and dedication. And now, our dreams, our goals are being realized. My life has truly been amplified! But I have not gotten there alone. I have many to thank for they have reached their hand out to pull me through those tough times, people like Civ.  

Now it’s your turn, take a look around, there’s someone in your tribe, in your village, that is waiting for a hand to be reached out to them. They need just that little extra push to realize their own goals – let that person be you! Reach your hand out and help another today. You won’t regret it, I promise!!
