What were your resolutions at the beginning of the year? Did you have some? Or did you just bypass them for this reason, or another? If you could make this year your turn-around year, what would it look like?
The Turn-Around Year – We all start the year with the bestest of intentions. This is going to be THE year. I’m gonna do this and I’m gonna do that…no longer am I going to…go ahead, fill in the blank, we know you already have. We all start off strong, without waiver. We are dedicated. We have reinforcements. We have people holding us accountable, our accountability partners. We have decided on our goals for the year. What we want to accomplish. Maybe, it’s not a set of goals, but it is a theme, a word, or a phrase that you choose you want to live by this year. We are inspired. January 1, the calendar has been turned and it is off to the races to accomplish the “new me” you set out to be. Immediate action, immediate responses. If we put our all into it, now, we cannot fail.
Now, come on, we are looking into the darkness of the end of the month. It is Jan 30th. We have one more day in the month. And then the calendar will be turned and February it will be.
What is your vision? The same as it was the last time you turned the calendar? How’s the motivation now? It happens every year, why should we be surprised? Our will-power, where did it go? Did we have it at all to begin with? And what the heck happened ….. So and so was supposed to hold us accountable. What happened to them?
Enough of that!!! Get back up. Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and put on your big-girl-panties! It is TIME to DO this. No one is going to do it for you. You cannot point fingers at anyone besides the person looking back at yourself in the mirror. This is YOUR dream. YOU are accountable. A thousand times we hear that life is not about how many times we fall, but whether or not we get back up. I’m tellin’ya’ – Get back up! Dust yourself off. Chin up and with even greater fervor take on your vision. Meet it eye to eye. Don’t back down.
The beginning is always today.

This year is going to be the turn-around year. The year of ME. No more waiting for this, or that, or the approval from here or there. The visions and dreams are set forth and WILL come to fruition! God will guide in the direction to go. Some dreams and visions, quite lofty. No one said that it’s ever gonna be easy, but then again, nothing in life worthwhile ever is. On the contrary, it is going to take tenacity and divine intervention to accomplish it all. If any of us think we can engineer our hopes and dreams, our visions and our goals, on our own are ludacris.
And though the timing of our newly found ambitions and aspirations fall at this time of the year when everyone in the world jumps on the bandwagon with their New Year’s Resolutions, this my dear friend is much more than frivolous “I want….” and “let’s try and lose 5 lbs cuz I’m so fat”. No, no, no, my dear friend. This is work that will make a difference in the world. We will be different people when we are able to boldly check that box marked DONE. The timing of all of this just happens to fall at the beginning of a new year, it is purely happenstance – it has all been coming down the pipeline for sometime now. God’s just been waiting to line everything up. Now is the time to climb into the roller coaster seat and put our hands in the air. No need to hang on because our direction is set.The wind in our hair starts to blow as our coaster amps up its voltage to climb the path that seemingly disappears into the sky. The best seat in the house – is it the front, with the best view? Or is it the back, with the most weightless moments throughout the loops, turns, tracks or hills?
One thing is for sure, there’s no looking back. The time is now!!!! Roll with it!!! Getter Done. Don’t close your eyes. It’s full steam ahead. Time to Rock and Roll! You got this!!!
Now, what were your thoughts at the beginning of the year? Did you have resolutions? Or did you just bypass them for this reason, or another? If you could make this year your turn-around year, what would it look like? I cannot wait to hear your comments below!
